Hotel Avery, a newly proposed addition on the banks of the beautiful Truckee River, embraces the rich history of Historic Downtown Truckee, California. Hotel guests will experience high end service and amenities in a luxurious mountain setting that includes an inviting entry lobby seating area with stone fireplace, an upscale dining experience overlooking the Truckee River, underground valet parking, and a fitness/spa area. Hotel Avery is not only within walking distance to the downtown Truckee Historic District but is also in close proximity to a countless number of four-season outdoor recreational opportunities throughout the Truckee-North Lake Tahoe area.
True to the natural beauty by which Truckee is surrounded, Hotel Avery will be built in accordance with the U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) design principles.
March 14, 2012 - Town of Truckee Planning Commission considered a project amendment that includes a detailed parking management plan as well as refinements to the hotel program. Originally approved in November 2008 as a 40 unit condo/hotel project, the hotel interior plan was modified to include 55 traditionally sized hotel rooms as opposed to the original 40 unit, larger condo/hotel suites; this largely within the previously approved footprint and building envelope. Other modifications included the addition of meeting space adjoining the restaurant and a revised landscape plan. The Planning Commission hearing is being continued to allow for more adequate time to address concerns aired by neighborhood residents and others. The new hearing date will be posted once it has been confirmed through the Town of Truckee.
